Saturday

What a fun day!! We didn't leave the house, but got a TON done -

1 Slept in a little bit
2 Becky (from Germany) came over and stayed for lunch, we chatted a long time!
3 Swimming - now JR is SUPER confident!!! He was going in the deep end and EVERYTHING!
4 Went for a walk with the neighbor (Julie) and her dog Shasta
5 Forgot if I told you, mailed Child Support -

Actually adding from yesterday, since the prev post was for Thursday - I just posted so late at night it was morning LOL!


Friday - chat was finally working!!! Got to talk for a long time!!!!

Five things:
1 JR last day of VBS
2 Cars2 - SUCH a good movie! We had a great time!
3 Swimming! JR is getting a lot more confident!
4 Marilyn, mom's friend and my old piano teacher, came over for dinner and we had a good time
5 Played UNO and Old Maid and Go Fish with JR - hilarious!

Big news! Jarrett can swim!

Wow! What a day!!!

Five things:
1. Mom bought a car - the Kia Sedona... LOVE IT!
2. I test-drove it and LOVEEEEE IT
3. Jarrett decided in the pool that he wanted to really concentrate on swimming, so he can now tread water, doggy paddle, back float, swim backwards...
4. Brady can crawl like an inch-worm!
5. YOU SAW BRADY CRAWL for the first time with his hands/inch worm!!!! HOW cool is Skype!?

Ok! So I have a few missions I'd like to accomplish this weekend for your Monday box. I have to see what cameras are available, and how much they cost. Can't be too much, but still I want you to have a nice one! Then I need to scoot over and get your Denver hat - that should get you started because I will send another when we get home :)

Got to talk to you tonight on Skype!!! It is SOOO good to hear your voice! I miss you soo much, and I love that you get to msg/call as often as you do! We'll get some sort of chat worked out eventually, who knows - we may have to email back and forth and just wait for the other to respond. I dunno. But don't let it frustrate you, that's the last thing I want for you to be upset over there, just know we know you're thinking about us and love us so much! I'm printing pictures this weekend too, so that you'll have some to put up and stuff. I'll send you some periodically so you can have us with you :) Looks like your rooms are pretty nice, and you have a lot of personal space compared to 2005.

I love you, I love you, I LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am SOO thankful that the days are flying by and you are keeping so busy! Here too, love. The boys and I are doing ok, we are busy and we are together and happy. We leave AZ next Friday, and then we'll be in Colorado for like a week. We'll go to Mom's about the 7th I think. I'll take 2 days to drive, but I have to see how the traffic situation is with those fires. I don't even know if they're contained now or not.

Had a really good day today, enjoying life and talkin to you! I got to talk to you on the phone and hear your sweet voice, aw that voice that I miss! I hate that there isn't a good chat forum for us to use, but I am definitely spoiled with text messaging ;)

Five things:
1. Went to Jenny with Mom
2. Had a play date with one of my best friends from high school, Hanna
3. Watched Brady learn how to balance on "3" so he could use his free hand/arm to grab things
4. Watched a movie with Mom and JR (Jennifer Anniston and Adam Sandler "Just Go With It")
5. Ignored ALL homework LOL ;)

Missing you!

It was a great day today, because I got to talk to you like 3 or 4 times! AND texting!! I love you so much!! It's like I can't say it enough times, or express in words - I love you so many millions... every star represents every bit of love I have for you, baby. And every night we go to sleep underneath the same stars - and soon we will be together again!!!!!!!

Five things:
1. Took the car to have the tire replaced
2. Mom car shopped at Kia and Toyota
3. Jarrett and I took more silly pictures and laughed for a long time about some of the pics that turned out!
4. We had a friend over for dinner (Kieran - one of mom's quilter/family friends) and grilled hamburgers :)
5. Submitted 2 of my last final projects!! I have one left, but I'll do that next week - it's for the class which has that book I left at home...

2 of 52!!

Ah! Feels so good to write that! I have dubbed Monday my counting "week" so I have something positive to start my week off with :) Today I miss you something terrible - I don't know if it's just the day, or what.. but today I could really use a big gigantic hug! Jarrett has kept me in stitches all day, that boy has such a sense of humor - he is always making me laugh!

Five things:
1. Brady is figuring out his scooting - he can go across a few feet in the blink of an eye now...
2. JR had his first day of VBS and loved it!
3. Packed up 2 boxes and shipped them today!
4. Rented a couple movies from Blockbuster
5. Cracked up to Jarrett telling crazy funny stories - now he calls Momma Lisa "Curly haired Grandma" (or just the "curly grandma" LOL!!) and then tonight he was saying (to Mom), "Well HAIR Grandma, (he goes, that's you - pointing to Mom) I will like to sleep with her if she comes to MY house, but at Curly Grandma's I sleep with her," LOL like that made any sense! But he was so serious and we were all cracking up!

Happy Fathers Day!!

Happy Fathers day, baby!!! I know it isn't the best one yet, but we will make such fantastic memories next year with our Disney trip, and visiting the beach and stuff! We miss you! We love you so much!!!!!

One week down!

Baby, I love you soo much!! I got the sweetest surprise today - you have text messaging now! WAHOOOOOOOOOOO! It is such a relief to be able to communicate with you more easily, and to hear your voice on your phone today! It sounded like you were just across town, such a better connection than we ever had almost 6 years ago. I know you might not have much time today, since you're in meetings and busy busy getting into the swing of things there.

Five things:
1. Mom treated us to a pedicure - awww my feet are so happy! I didn't fall asleep like you do LOL
2. Returned the one capri's to Burlington
3. Finished the budget/bills
4. Finished a TONN of homework
5. SWIMMING!!! ahhhhhhh let me tell you - Brady LOVES the water! He had SUCH a shock getting into his little floaty - but the longer he was in and swimming he was just squealing and having a great time!

Catching up!

Ok, the last two nights have been pretty late - so going back two days:

Friday five things:

1. Played with Brady on the floor - he is getting SOOO close to crawling!
2. Shopped at Target
3. Went to the Kia dealership - we'll get it replaced this next week
4. Yummy dinner, Brady's getting better in moms high chair
5. Laughed as JR jumped in the pile of clean clothes for almost 40 min, entertaining Brady!


Thursday five things:

1. Had lunch with Toni, from Vista!
2. Spent an hour at the beach - Brady slept!
3. Flat tire outside Yuma, AZ!
4. Tire changed (for donut) drove 50mph to Gila Bend
5. Replaced for $35 -- home at midnight!!

Sea World without my love :(

My dearest B -

Today we went to Sea World, and at the Shamu show they acknowledged and thanked all of our heros in uniform. I nearly lost it. Instead, I found myself beam with pride knowing that he was speaking to you, my love, and recognizing all of your hard work and sacrifice to ensure all we hold dear and to keep us safe back home. I love you SOOO much!!!!!!!

Five things:

1. Breakfast at our hotel - HUGE Belgian waffle like we had before the family reunion
2. Shamu - WOW they are huge!!! Like 9,400 lbs!
3. Lunch with Shamu! Seriously THE coolest thing, B, we are SO going back next summer!
4. Jarrett and Mom rode the tea cups 3 times back-to-back, and he loved EVERY MINUTE of it!
5. Brady got sunburnt :( and they both fell asleep on the way home!

Tuesday

I am so thankful for WiFi!!! Got to talk to you last night for quite awhile - I love you so much!!

5 things:

1. Drove to San Diego!
2. Listened to JR story about, "What if I drove a shoe car?" (see below when you have time :)
3. Ate dinner at a nice place with crazy wacky (horrible!!) service
4. Watched Brady play for about 30 minutes with a bag of chips!!
5. Planned our day for tomorrow - Sea World! The Beach!

Wish sooo soo much you were here with us!! I love you, the boys love you so, so so much!!!

**Jarrett's car story**

So we were driving along, and JR started telling this crazy wacky story about a car - he announced, "What if I drove a SHOE car?? It would drive and fly and I would have to jump out of the car for it to park in the garage! But I couldn't put the garage door down because the car backs up and goes forward and backs up and goes forward, so I couldn't do that!"

HILARIOUS!

Skype, I love you!

I just got a video call from you, and it is sooo good to see your face and your smile! I love you with all of my everything, baby, that just gave me strength to get through another week!!

Five things:
1. Learned it is a 12 hr time difference to you, 11 to the house -
2. Worked on homework, realized I didn't bring my books
3. Took silly pictures with JR :)
4. Made dinner
5. Playin cards with Mom tonight!

Today is the first Monday of 52, and believe me I'm keeping track!!!

Going back the last two days:

Sunday:
Woke up this morning, after a fairly peaceful night. Momma Lisa kept Brady and JR for me all night, so I was able to sleep. Woke up at 2am something to your texts!! Gave me the strength to keep going :) Five things:

1. Had breakfast with Momma Lisa
2. Drove to Truth or Consequences, NM
3. 2 hr layover to eat lunch and go to the local Whiskey-Mike LOL!
4. Got to Mom's about 7:30
5. Relaxed and chatted til bed -


Saturday:

We said "See You Soon" this morning... One of the hardest days of our lives, but one day that brings you closer to being home! Five things:

1. Took the pups to the kennel
2. Surprise Car show!
3. Packed the car and drove to Momma Lisa's
4. Adrianna took JR to the park, and when they came back they played in the living room til almost midnight...
5. Jarrett is starting to feel better!

Packed ...

Helped you pack yesterday :( Ironically it was somewhat helpful to spend that time together, and see all of your things packed up, knowing you have absolutely everything you need. Of course there will be things you find you need and I'll send them along, but I feel pretty confident you've got what you need and that puts my mind at ease.

Tomorrow will be the hardest day that we have shared in a long time. I am so thankful that God gave us these last almost 6 years deployment-free, so I really can't complain too much. Still sucks.

This blog is dedicated to my amazing husband, and will follow the year of our life while he is away from us protecting our freedom. He leaves in 6 days :( While he is gone he will miss a lot of firsts, so this will be one of my ways to keep him up to date with the goings on back home. "5in365" will be 5 things each day, for 365 days. I don't want to forget to tell him something, or try to remember what happened when, so this way I can pop on each evening and jot a few things from that day. I love you, Brian - I love you with all of my heart and I will keep things going here at home. You are an amazing inspiration and I love you for who you are, and that you are so strong fighting for our country and protecting us here at home. You mean everything to me, and the boys and I will miss you very much!
