September... Come and almost gone?!

I had a feeling this would happen, school would start and we'd be super busy! Can't say I'm complaining though! We have had the school carnival, orientation, my second to last term finished up and of course birthday party after birthday party... This weekend we're heading to see Thomas, then Sunday we're goin to see Lion King! I cannot believe the end of next week is October! Flippin October!! Yessssss!We miss you so much baby! I know what I'm getting you for Christmas/bday, and I cannot WAIT! Love u. Ps it's almost 16 of 52!!!!

(if you have time :) !!)A lot of things have happened this last week :) Jarrett started school last Thursday, and then turned around two days later and turned 6. Goodness!! I cannot believe it, but at the same time I can and I know you are so proud of him, Babe! This week has flown by - I've been concentrating really hard on the finances, and the house. I decided to get out of my funk I needed some things that I enjoy, since I've just gotten so bogged down with school. I have found the wonderful world of blog-land... oh goodness B, I love, love, LOVE to read about other people's ideas and see pics and how-to's! So I have a lot of ideas and I'm just trying to decide where to begin. I think living room/kitchen and then Hot Wheels Office. But I really really want to do our room :) I revamped Bub's in a few subtle ways but it made a huge difference! I moved his bed and put the drawers-side to the wall. The bed looks SO much better now that it's just the clean brown side showing :) One of his bday presents I got him is a Hot Wheels track that attaches to the wall - it IS SO COOL! So I put that on the corner wall where H bed used to be, and he has a ton of space around the corner where he plays and builds his track. He actually plays in there now!!! Then I moved his dresser into his closet, just so that he had more floor space. This weekend I'm planning to paint his chalkboard, yay!

So today I start unit 7... YES! SEVEN!!!!!!!!! which means I only have 3 weeks left to this term - wahooooooooooooooooooo! Registered for next term, which really gave me the motivation and kick in the pants that I've been lacking. She said, "I see this is your last term, congratulations!" and I about sh!t my pants!!! I have been jealous of other students along the way who, during introductions, say, "It's my last term," and now it's finally my turn :) It's a silly thing to be excited about, but I can finally FINALLLLLY see the light at the end of the tunnel. I know one day I'll be glad I stuck it out. But for now I'm just working and working to make the grade and finish up strong baby.

So I told you I registered for Dave's class online. I am SOOOOOO EXCITED! Dang this guy is SUCH a motivational speaker!! He makes you want to do everything like "rightthisminute"!!! SERIOUSLY! I've driven past McDonald's twice now (where originally I'd be like, "ooh a breakfast mcgriddle sounds good," or whatnot. Now I'm like, "I can put that $3 to something else," ahhhhhhh that will make things so much easier to pay down and ultimately pay off. And! he gave us access on the website to a budget builder/planner that calculates things automatically. In MY plan of paying things off, I did not pay Mom loan off over the year - but I figured we could pay the remainder of hers with some of the SDP$$. On the Dave plan I included every debt (minus car/house -- need to add consol. loan) and they will ALL be paid off by the time you are home! Woooohooooo! I am super excited! This means we will be saving about $700 every month, just in payments (because the APR will go back up)!! $300 something to WFB, $200 to Mom, $100 to USAA, $50 to Best Buy, 332 consol. loan... Almost have his baby step#1 accomplished, which is $1000 in savings.

PS. by saving that $$, that's our child support payment. hehehehe

Life is GREAT baby!!!!! I am also in a purging mood where I want to throw away stuff we've been clinging to for no apparent reason. My decor style I am going for is simple and clean, no clutter and very like simple. That's the best way to describe it. And I've found an awesomeeeee blog that I started following, getting inspiration from her a lott.

Gotta get some lessons done (for Dave) while Brady's sleeeepin. Love you!

Can't believe I missed countdown day!!

So busy the last two weeks baby! Had JR orientation this morning and his teacher is sooo nice! She was an air force wife, and her hubby is now retired. He is so excites he can hardly stand it! In other news Brady is getting his two bottom teeth and starting to babble a lot - so cute! I'm starting unit 6 in class and I'm over most of my funk for now. I'm hopin next term I'm so excited to finish that I don't get in a funk at all.

Started celebrating "5days of birthdays" today! JR asked yesterday if we could do that, so he'll open one each day, and the rest on Saturday. I have somethin coming in the mail from you (amazon) and mom said she sent your card for you. He isgetting so big, this week is hard for me. Turning 6 and startin kindergarten all in one week!

Also was gonna say something else but it's floating out of y head... I'll pop on when I remember and add it. Love you love you!!!!!

Goodbye, July!

Well it is now August, and we are managing to keep ourselves pretty busy! There are only 9 days left until the first day of school, and I am really reallllllly not ready!! It was one thing to send JR to preschool and pre-k, but it is so different sending him to SCHOOL!! Kindergarten - seemed so far away and now it's NEXT WEEK! UGH. B wish you were here, because I'm not so sure I won't cry.

But I am so proud of Bub, he is always such a big huge help and I love that he pays attention and takes note of even the smallest thing. I was pulling the laundry basket down the hall yesterday and he stopped me just before the living room and said, "Momma, I'll get that," it was such a sweet gesture and he does things like that to help me all the time. I know you are proud of your Bubba, babe!

I start week 5 of my classes tomorrow (well today.. I think its after midnight now) and that means I'm at the halfway point. I've got two solid A's and one that I'll be lucky to bring up to a C. But I will get through it - it is just difficult for me to get into, and the subject is "research". Well joy. But it is super exciting looking at my degree plan, seeing that there are only 3 classes left. It is wonderful and I LOVE IT! So I will press on - not much longer.

Gotta get JR's school shirts, then he'll be 100% ready for school. his supplies weren't too terribly expensive, and we found him some pants at WM so just gotta get the shirts.

what day is it again?

I am so far behind! But lets see since the last post, we have returned from OKC and enjoyed a relaxing weekend just doing a whole lotta nothing! We got our deployment chain started, goes all through the hallway and comes into the kitchen - takes us only to January!! So prolly close to Thanksgiving, we'll start another chain and have that take us through next July so that way we're OVER on days instead of under. We'll tear off one every night :)

Had our AC looked at again today since it went out again. I had noticed yesterday that it was getting really hot in here, and sure enough it was like 86 or 89! Luckily it was raining a bit outside so we opened the windows and had a cool evening. Sleep was ok, with windows open. The guy came out today and did some service on the AC unit, but said that the compressor is going out, and because it's having to work so hard it may not last too much longer. SO that is on my semi to-do list to save in case we have to replace that. Also, have to pay one last payment on the Maxima - still not sure why that is but it's not a full payment it's like $300. So I'm working a few issues all at once.

The next few months we should have a few things paid down considerably, which will be a huge relief. I was hoping to have a bit in savings from GI Bill, but I'm going to just use it right away to pay things off, instead of waiting to pay it off later once I had $$ saved up. I won't make much on interest, and I want these things gone!

Sunday catching up!

Hey baby!! Got here to dads yesterday, and went to Ellas 4th bday party! Then today we went to lunch with Casey, Rhonda, Ella, Grandma Burkhalter at Golden Corral. Went back to Caseys house for a couple hours and hung out- it was fun! Had a brisket dinner tonight at dads for his bday, and it was so yummy- whoAAA I was so in love with this food lol! Then after dinner Nita and James started talking about coming out to Colorado for Christmas and going skiing- b/c I said yall should come out to see us and go skiing :) so they said yes! Not sure when, but they're seriously thinking about it. Oh yah I remember how it came up, Nita said someone at work they stopped giving each other gifts for Christmas and instead do a trip. So I said, cool y'all could come ski in Colorado! So thats cool- will msg you about that too since I don't know how long before you read he blog again. Tomorrow not doing much, just homework. Tuesday spending the day with Patty, then leaving Wed or Thurs. I'm ready to be home. I miss you baby, I love you soooo much!!!!!! Xoxoxoxoxoxox

Thursday catching up!

I love you sooooo much!! We had a blast at the rodeo the other night! There was a little boy there who befriended me and then when Mateo got annoyed with him he "rescued me" and sat besides me. Had a good visit here with mom and pop, it's been a good week love the home cookin and relaxing :) headed to okc prolly Sat. Took miss Hailey home today because she just couldn't behave. I'll get her again one night next week for dinner or something. Bub sure misses his sissy!

Busy in Oklahoma! Got to dads Thursday, got Hailey Friday, got to Moms last night just in time for supper! Got up today and had founders day parade! The kids did the slip n slide this afternoon while Brady and I napped for 3 hrs lol. Rodeo was tonight, had a good time! Brady learned to clap today- so cute! I'm getting stuff together for boxes, love youuuuuuu!

Tuesday already!!

YAY! Got to talk to you on Skype for a longgg time today! SOOOO happy you had a camera!!!! You look good babe, I miss seeing your face everyday and seeing your smile :) I LOVE YOU!!!

Wow! What a day!!!

1. Mom bought a car - the Kia Sedona... LOVE IT!
2. I test-drove it and LOVEEEEE IT
3. Jarrett decided in the pool that he wanted to really concentrate on swimming, so he can now tread water, doggy paddle, back float, swim backwards...

5. YOU SAW BRADY CRAWL for the first time with his hands/inch worm!!!! HOW cool is Skype!?

Ok! So I have a few missions I'd like to accomplish this weekend for your Monday box. I have to see what cameras are available, and how much they cost. Can't be too much, but still I want you to have a nice one! Then I need to scoot over and get your Denver hat - that should get you started because I will send another when we get home :)

Got to talk to you tonight on Skype!!! It is SOOO good to hear your voice! I miss you soo much, and I love that you get to msg/call as often as you do! We'll get some sort of chat worked out eventually, who knows - we may have to email back and forth and just wait for the other to respond. I dunno. But don't let it frustrate you, that's the last thing I want for you to be upset over there, just know we know you're thinking about us and love us so much! I'm printing pictures this weekend too, so that you'll have some to put up and stuff. I'll send you some periodically so you can have us with you :) Looks like your rooms are pretty nice, and you have a lot of personal space compared to 2005.

Missing you!

It was a great day today, because I got to talk to you like 3 or 4 times! AND texting!! I love you so much!! It's like I can't say it enough times, or express in words - I love you so many millions... every star represents every bit of love I have for you, baby. And every night we go to sleep underneath the same stars - and soon we will be together again!!!!!!!

1. Took the car to have the tire replaced
2. Mom car shopped at Kia and Toyota
3. Jarrett and I took more silly pictures and laughed for a long time about some of the pics that turned out!
4. We had a friend over for dinner (Kieran - one of mom's quilter/family friends) and grilled hamburgers :)
5. Submitted 2 of my last final projects!! I have one left, but I'll do that next week - it's for the class which has that book I left at home...

Ah! Feels so good to write that! I have dubbed Monday my counting "week" so I have something positive to start my week off with :) Today I miss you something terrible - I don't know if it's just the day, or what.. but today I could really use a big gigantic hug! Jarrett has kept me in stitches all day, that boy has such a sense of humor - he is always making me laugh!

Five things:
1. Brady is figuring out his scooting - he can go across a few feet in the blink of an eye now...
2. JR had his first day of VBS and loved it!
3. Packed up 2 boxes and shipped them today!
4. Rented a couple movies from Blockbuster
5. Cracked up to Jarrett telling crazy funny stories - now he calls Momma Lisa "Curly haired Grandma" (or just the "curly grandma" LOL!!) and then tonight he was saying (to Mom), "Well HAIR Grandma, (he goes, that's you - pointing to Mom) I will like to sleep with her if she comes to MY house, but at Curly Grandma's I sleep with her," LOL like that made any sense! But he was so serious and we were all cracking up!

Happy Fathers Day!!

Happy Fathers day, baby!!! I know it isn't the best one yet, but we will make such fantastic memories next year with our Disney trip, and visiting the beach and stuff! We miss you! We love you so much!!!!!

One week down!

Baby, I love you soo much!! I got the sweetest surprise today - you have text messaging now! WAHOOOOOOOOOOO! It is such a relief to be able to communicate with you more easily, and to hear your voice on your phone today! It sounded like you were just across town, such a better connection than we ever had almost 6 years ago. I know you might not have much time today, since you're in meetings and busy busy getting into the swing of things there.

Five things:
1. Mom treated us to a pedicure - awww my feet are so happy! I didn't fall asleep like you do LOL
2. Returned the one capri's to Burlington
3. Finished the budget/bills
4. Finished a TONN of homework
5. SWIMMING!!! ahhhhhhh let me tell you - Brady LOVES the water! He had SUCH a shock getting into his little floaty - but the longer he was in and swimming he was just squealing and having a great time!

2. Spent an hour at the beach - Brady slept!
3. Flat tire outside Yuma, AZ!
4. Tire changed (for donut) drove 50mph to Gila Bend
5. Replaced for $35 -- home at midnight!!

Sea World without my love :(

My dearest B -

Today we went to Sea World, and at the Shamu show they acknowledged and thanked all of our heros in uniform. I nearly lost it. Instead, I found myself beam with pride knowing that he was speaking to you, my love, and recognizing all of your hard work and sacrifice to ensure all we hold dear and to keep us safe back home. I love you SOOO much!!!!!!!

Five things:

1. Breakfast at our hotel - HUGE Belgian waffle like we had before the family reunion
2. Shamu - WOW they are huge!!! Like 9,400 lbs!
3. Lunch with Shamu! Seriously THE coolest thing, B, we are SO going back next summer!
4. Jarrett and Mom rode the tea cups 3 times back-to-back, and he loved EVERY MINUTE of it!
5. Brady got sunburnt :( and they both fell asleep on the way home!

**Jarrett's car story**

So we were driving along, and JR started telling this crazy wacky story about a car - he announced, "What if I drove a SHOE car?? It would drive and fly and I would have to jump out of the car for it to park in the garage! But I couldn't put the garage door down because the car backs up and goes forward and backs up and goes forward, so I couldn't do that!"

HILARIOUS!

Sunday:
Woke up this morning, after a fairly peaceful night. Momma Lisa kept Brady and JR for me all night, so I was able to sleep. Woke up at 2am something to your texts!! Gave me the strength to keep going :) Five things:

1. Had breakfast with Momma Lisa

3. 2 hr layover to eat lunch and go to the local Whiskey-Mike LOL!
4. Got to Mom's about 7:30

Saturday:

We said "See You Soon" this morning... One of the hardest days of our lives, but one day that brings you closer to being home! Five things:

1. Took the pups to the kennel
2. Surprise Car show!
3. Packed the car and drove to Momma Lisa's
4. Adrianna took JR to the park, and when they came back they played in the living room til almost midnight...
5. Jarrett is starting to feel better!

Packed ...

Helped you pack yesterday :( Ironically it was somewhat helpful to spend that time together, and see all of your things packed up, knowing you have absolutely everything you need. Of course there will be things you find you need and I'll send them along, but I feel pretty confident you've got what you need and that puts my mind at ease.

Tomorrow will be the hardest day that we have shared in a long time. I am so thankful that God gave us these last almost 6 years deployment-free, so I really can't complain too much. Still sucks.

I'm not ready for this :( I will have to get up and turn on wrestling or Tough Enough so that I can pretend you're in the next room.... I love you so much - thank you for making this last weekend special, and letting me sleep in so that you could soak up cuddles with your boys. starting this blog....

This blog is dedicated to my amazing husband, and will follow the year of our life while he is away from us protecting our freedom. He leaves in 6 days :( While he is gone he will miss a lot of firsts, so this will be one of my ways to keep him up to date with the goings on back home. "5in365" will be 5 things each day, for 365 days. I don't want to forget to tell him something, or try to remember what happened when, so this way I can pop on each evening and jot a few things from that day. I love you, Brian - I love you with all of my heart and I will keep things going here at home. You are an amazing inspiration and I love you for who you are, and that you are so strong fighting for our country and protecting us here at home. You mean everything to me, and the boys and I will miss you very much!
